Cadets

   
 

On Wednesday 3rd March 2010 Clane Red Cross held its first open night for potential Cadets and their parents.

An introduction to the activities of the Cadets was followed by demonstrations of the contents of a first aid kit and the use of a defibrillator on a mannequin. The night ended with a tour of the Clane Red Cross ambulance. Approximately 12 potential cadets and their parents attended on the night and they will send application forms to the Irish Red Cross before the next Cadet night in April.

Cadets will have the opportunity to learn first aid as well as engage in fun activities such as art and crafts, games days and community activities. Cadets are aged 10-16 years and can become unit members of the Red Cross after this.

On 17th April, there is a youth challenge day in Co. Laois. If there is sufficient interest, our new Cadets will attend.
